Thursday, Aug 8 – Welcome to the Zou

We are going to have a variety of Zoo animals that the kids can compete to call out the best animal noise. Then the winner of each category will compete for the best tiger sound as a nod to Truman the Tiger. We want to see if Truman the Tiger can come judge the ‘Zou’ noises and choose the winners.

Friday, Aug 9 – Cup by Cup

I hope you all came prepare to get a little wet because we are playing a water game! Players will be divide into 2 teams. Players in each team will stand in a straight line and given 1 cup. The player at the front of the line will have their cup filled with water. The goal is to get the water to the end of the line player. Only catch is, you have to pass the water over your head and the player behind you has to catch the water in their cup and then they will pass over their head, and so on. First team with water in the last person’s cup, wins!

Saturday, Aug 10 – Hot Potato Happy Meal

Children sit in a circle. They pass the Happy Meal Box around the circle while music plays in the background. If you drop the Box, you are out. When the music stops, the person holding the box is out. The last person is the winner! Everyone will receive a McDonalds frozen beverage Coupon!

Sunday, Aug 11 – Soldier Says

The Solider who is the potential recipient from the Flag Retreat Day or in uniform is the designated Simon, while the kids are the players. Standing in front of the group, the Solider tells players what they must do. However, the players must only obey commands that begin with the words “Solider Says.” If Solider says, “Solider says touch your nose,” then players must touch their nose. Whoever disobeys is out.

Monday, Aug 12 – Limbo

One by one, each of you will stay on your feet and go underneath the bar without touching it. After everyone has gone under, we will lower the bar one notch. The last person to make it under without touching is the winner.

Tuesday, Aug 13 – Snake in My Boot Relay

There’s a snake in my boot! It’s your job to grab the snake (don’t worry, they won’t bite) from one boot and into the other. You will be split into two teams. In true relay fashion, one member from each team will go to one boot, take one snake out, and put it in the boot by your line. Once the first person finishes, the next can go. The first team to transfer all of the snakes, wins!

Wednesday, Aug 14 – Musical Squares

Get your dancing shoes on! This game is best as musical chairs, but for safety purposes we will use colored paper squares. Pieces of colored construction paper taped to the ground will be the resting places when the music stops. The child who gets both feet on first claims the spot, no pushing or shoving is allowed! One square will be removed each round.

Thursday, Aug 15 – Sponge Relay

We will split the participants into two teams. Each team will have two buckets and a sponge. The goal is to transfer the water from one bucket, to the next, using the sponge. In true relay fashion, each team will send one member at a time to dunk the sponge in the bucket, and squeeze it out into the other. After the team member is finished transferring the water, the next teammate can go. If one team has more members, the team with fewer can send people twice. The first team to fill their bucket to the indicated line, wins!

Friday, Aug 16 – Chuck the Chicken

This game involves stuffed chickens and Hula Hoops. This game is similar to ring toss. The object is to make the chicken through the hoop as far away as possible. We will start at this distance and each time take one step back from the hoop. There will be _ people competing at one time. If the chicken did not get chucked through the hoop, you’re out.

Saturday, Aug 17 – Old McDonald Bean Bag Toss

All bean bags must be tossed underhand. Each player must stand behind the toss line when tossing a bean bag. If a player’s foot crosses the toss line when tossing a bean bag, his/her points for that toss are not counted and turn is lost. Distraction or interference with opposing players will result in lost turn.

Sunday, Aug 18 – Hula Palooza

We want to know who can hula-hoop the longest! Each contestant will start hula hooping at the same time, if you drop your hoop, you’re out!
