*Candidates should reside in the Carmel / Indianapolis, Indiana market.

This position supervises a team of virtual block specialists that ensures accurate, efficient recording of vehicle and customer information during the sale and provides administrative support to the auctioneer on sale days from a remote location virtually. The Virtual Auction Support Specialist Supervisor oversees scheduling through a remote tool and manages beginner, intermediate and ancillary tasks for both auction and shared services teams. This position may perform other duties both on-site and remotely as identified for efficiencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES/KEY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Establish and maintain close working relationships and rapport with auction leadership and virtual block specialist team members.
  • Collaborate with IT Field Technician for each location to ensure proper set up and function of the virtual block specialist and arrange for necessary equipment and backup systems.
  • Coordinate and verify sales schedules, lane assignments, and proper staffing weekly to meet auction needs in accordance with time zones, daily/weekly overtime considerations, and auction circ*mstances.
  • Manage regional scheduling of VBS while also collaborating with national scheduling center to allow cross region support.
  • Virtual block specialist activities to fill in and also as part of regular schedule.
  • Collaborate with auction leadership and virtual block specialist team members to identify issues, solve problems, improve and measure client experience.
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, orienting, and virtual block specialist team members.
  • Responsible for counselling and coaching team members as necessary.
  • Plan, monitor, and provide regular formal and informal performance feedback and appraisals.
  • Review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective client service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
  • Effectively leads the team by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox Automotive values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Partner with various market level support teams (i.e. HR, IT, Safety, Security, Sales) to ensure effective and efficient operational processes that align with company objectives and strategies and high-quality client service and support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and 3+ years of related experience with at least 1-year experience in a management or lead role or BA/BS Degree with 3 years of professional experience.
  • Ideally candidates will have successful completion of internal leadership training program or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to foster productive and professional internal and external business relationships.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.
  • Effective time management, client service, and organizational skills required.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, ability to multi-task, and enjoy a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automobile industry or the auction business preferred.
  • Experience developing training or managing a department in the automotive, rental/insurance industry, or virtual call center preferred.
  • Proficient computer and software skills essential. AS400 experience preferred.

Drug Testing:

To be employed in this role, you'll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position. However, we are a drug-free workplace, so the possession, use or being under the influence of drugs illegal under federal or state law during work hours, on company property and/or in company vehicles is prohibited.

Compensation:

Compensation includes a base salary of $48,200.00 - $72,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
