Top 36 things to do and attractions in Yellow Springs (2024)

Young's Jersey Dairy is a farm-based establishment that offers not only delicious ice cream but also other activities for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy mini-golf and batting cages, as well as watch cows being milked and feed goats. The restaurant on-site serves cheeseburgers, cheese curds, and other dishes that are sure to satisfy hunger cravings. While prices may be a bit high, many people rave about the quality of their milkshakes.

An excellent place to get a sweet treat after a long day! The buckeye milkshake is so good and well worth the price. I am also very impressed with the new building. You can now hold events there at a modest price, such as corporate get togethers and birthday parties.I'm glad Young's is still in business. It's brought back memories of getting ice cream with grandpa after bike rides.

Always a great place to take the kids and do fun activities. Even with it being super busy today, we received our food and ice cream fairly quickly. This year there's a playground in the corn maze which was super fun and the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch are perfect! I always love coming to Young's.

I took my family there with my boyfriend for the first time and we had a blast! My nephew had fun feeding the goats for the first time, exploring and seeing all the animals (goats, cows, pigs), climbing in tractors, and exploring the play area made especially for kids his age filled with tons of age appropriate activities which was free for him and he’s under the age of 2. We also got food and ice cream here and it was all delicious! Both came out in a timely manner. They also have a cute little gift shop section you can shop from. Absolutely loved sharing a Young’s Dairy experience with my family that I grew up loving!

I just don't know how anyone could rank this place lower than five stars. It has been a fantastic establishment for all the years it has been around. We have watched it grow over the years in many different ways that demonstrates their high commitment to high quality food, desserts, fun activities, etc. The service has always been amazing with tons of staff ready to help at any time. That is true again since our last visit before the pandemic. If you're in the Springfield area, you must do yourself a favor and stop in.

This is a perfect place if you are trying to find something for couple of hours depending on the crowd size. If it is just one family then the options you have is farm, petting/feeding animals, walking around to take pictures, maybe games depending on your interest and end up with a good treat...they have great ice cream collections and wide menu. I loved their fried cheese curds..peaches and cream was my favorite along with white cream with chocolate and Raspberry. I get to try their garlic and dill flavor (yes ice cream), for me it tasted like frozen garlic butter. If you are visiting this with few families then you can spend 4+ hours including all fun games....would recommend this place.

I visited Young's Dairy Farm for ice cream and tried their creamy Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cow Patty, double chocolate fudge flavors served in freshly made waffle bowls. The Chocolate Peanut Butter was a classic delight, combining rich chocolate with peanut butter. The Cow Patty flavor surprised me with its chocolaty goodness. What made the experience even better was the petting place for cows and goats, adding to the farm-fresh ambiance. Highly recommend these flavorful treats for a delicious and fun visit!

The milkshakes we got were great!! We had cheeseburgers and cheese curds and they were both good. A little pricey $38 for 2 drinks, 2 milkshakes, 2 cheese curds and 2 cheesburgers. We got to see super cute animals!!! The baby goats were so soft and adorable!

Young's Jersey Dairy is a fun-filled, nostalgic place to be!!! I first came myself in the early 90s & loved it! Later in, I brought my son who loved it just like I did! I reconnected with the love of my life & we returned on a date!!! So, Young's is truly a part of the family! It has changed a lot over the years, but it will always be a special place to us! By the way... the Sweet Potato Bread Sundae... DIVINE!!!!!

We met some of the family at Young's for a treat before they had to head back home out of state. We have eaten here several times but only once before at the new building and tables. There was a really nice shaded area under the porch to eat your treat. Today we got the straw berry short cake with the vanilla ice cream. The whip cream on top is a nice touch. The cake wasn't really pound cake but really just like regular cake. Also the ice cream seemed really sweet more than creamy. The strawberries were nice and fresh and delicious. I probably wouldn't order it again but would stick to the strawberry ice cream. It has always been great.

Great place for families, homeschool, or school outings. The food is good but the ice cream is better. I had the single, double buckeye. Had I realized it was only a dollar cheaper than the double, I would have gotten the double. It was delicious 😋. My daughter and I went there after hiking at John Bryan State Park. I got some sort of chicken sandwich with fries. It was just OK. My daughter got chicken strips and fries. Her chicken was better than the chicken on my sandwich. Ultimately, the ice cream was my favorite!

Visited here several years ago and thought the restaurant part was quite rundown. Was pleased to see they have redone the restaurant and it is really really nice. Very nice and clean restrooms. Quite a few indoor tables even for groups. Little gift shop inside with various decor and gifts and a plethora of food items - cheese curds, etc. We ate lunch - you order at counter and they give you a beeper to pick up your food from the counter. You can order from your table as well using a QR code. We fed the goats - can buy food outside for a quarter. Went into barn - cows, goats, pig that you could pet. Also pumpkins and gourds to purchase outside. Reasonably priced. Went putt putt golfing with a group - course was well maintained and fun. Ice cream is great and homemade there. Super fun time!

My first time to the new building of Young's Jersey Dairy restaurant. Lots of seating options including a HUGE family table. There is a line for ice cream and a line for food/drink. And the lines go very fast. You place your order and they give you a device to let you know when your order is up at the Grill. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger with no bun (because of GF issues), the cheese curds and hot apple cider. My burger was alright, not hot at all, but edible. The cheese curds came with 3 sauces and those curds are delicious! There is a cute gift shop that includes breads, pies, jams and candy.

This place is phenomenal!! We came for mini putt (udders and putters, are you kidding me?! Genius!) and stayed for baby goats, baby cows, kittens and delicious food. There's an app to pre-order your food and then you head over and pick it up to skip the line, absolutely a time saver. 10/10 would recommend, the 17th hole of mini putt is about the appropriate timing to order, finish your game, meander over, and then everything is ready. We had zero children with us and had an incredible time as adults, definitely a kid-friendly place, but tons of activities for those of us young at heart as well.

Such an awesome place for family fun! We had lunch and their homemade ice cream and both were amazing! I love all the activities they have to offer. We went to their petting zoo, played miniature golf, and went on their giant slide. It was a great place to spend our Saturday together!

What a fun place! We got there early so there really wasn't a big crowd. They have a great selection of ice cream flavors, fresh cheese curds and some baked goods. There are a lot of activities that are family friendly, from wagon rides, corn maze and feeding goats. Overall a fun place! They also have a driving range as well (I didn't check it out but it definitely seemed to be a popular spot). There is plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and plenty of seating for everyone. It appears that they do have different events happening in the weekend.

I come here every time I visit the area. Young’s is located just outside Yellow Springs. It’s a local and regional institution! There is a petting zoo with farm animals to feed (feed available for a purchase), a dairy, small park with farm equipment to sit on, a driving range, a miniature golf course, and a huge slide. The centerpiece is the restaurant, which offers sandwiches, sides (the onion rings are great!), and fresh-made ice cream (from the dairy’s milk) in a huge number of flavors. Sprinkles also available. There is a large indoor area with picnic tables to sit, eat, and relax. I highly recommend Young’s!

We stopped here because of geocaching, so happy we learned of the place. Although very off season timing it was a great visit, always a good time to enjoy animals. Probably the best cheese curds from a restaurant I’ve ever had. Of course had to get some fresh milk and it was so good! Planning our return trip to check out the carousel when it’s put in this summer.

This place is essentially an agritourism destination. We were there for lunch alone and so didn’t explore elsewhere. The paved parking lot is huge. The cafeteria is massive, too, with factory functions that can be observed, a queue area to buy meals and ice cream to enjoy at seats nearby, and a shop with decorative items, cheese, tub ice cream, and sweets like pie.Upon ordering food, we were given a disc to alert us when our order was done. It took about 15 minutes for our lunch to be ready. First of all, the cheese curds were good quality with a seasoned breading that was quite light; my sister-In-law, who is a local, was dismayed that they were not as good as she remembered. They ordered buffalo curds that just had something like Frank’s Red Hot squirted over the top, and the texture wasn’t good. As someone who has eaten many cheese curds, I thought mine were okay, mid-range.I had a chicken salad croissant with an added side salad. My sandwich wasn't appetizing in appearance, as you can see in my picture. The cheese slice looked like it had been sitting out for quite a while but it tasted fine, which was good, because the overall salad was surprisingly bland. My side salad was a spring mix that included several leaves that were blackening with rot; one tiny glob is visible in my picture. I had to pick those out. My husband had a burger and fries, which he thought was fine. My nephews had ice cream and really loved it, so I am thinking this may be a place to come for that rather than the main meal. I did buy two blocks of their more aged cheddars and a pack of buckeyes (a regional dessert with peanut butter and chocolate) to enjoy later.

I spent about 20 minutes looking around inside at the cheese for sale that sounded awesome and at the gift shop and outside in the barn. The goats were bahhing. It was cute. Petted a little cow. They have hand cleanser stations for after you pet the animals or let them eat feed from your palm. You can buy a little container of goat feed inside for $1.75 or outside by the goats they have 4 gumball type dispensers with feed ..a small handful for $.25.

Homemade ice cream is without a doubt the best flavor. The sandwiches and onion rings take a little longer to serve, but they are also very tasty and should be eaten. There is a cattle barn just around the corner, which can be visited freely, and is recommended for visitors with children.

Stopped by on our way out of town to pick up some cheese curds and sweet potato bread. Everyone was extremely kind here, and our cashier recommended her favorite blend of vanilla latte, coffee, and creamer that really hit the spot. This place is worth the stop!

Very clean store that sells lots of varieties of ice cream either at the counter or in bulk containers. A few different kinds of cheese. Ice cream and cheese tasted really good and fresh. A deli area is at the right rear. Also a few food items and novelty items are sold.

This is definitely a mid-west experience you don't want to miss, it's massive, large parking lot, petting zoo, long line to order but it moves fast because they know what they are doing. It's great to go for some hikes around Jon Bryan State Park and then get some dinner and ice cream. The ice cream is mandatory don't miss out. Plenty of tables to even on the busiest day I've been you can typically find a seat even for a large group.

What a cool place and the treats were delicious but the line was long and the time we had to wait to get ice cream felt like I was at a Michelin star restaurant. (They only had 2 people at the registers)Lots of fun things for the kids to do.

Not bad if you hit it early. Miniature golf is a little bit plain Jane but the course is kept up well. Order a cheeseburger at the restaurant and found it to be better than I thought it would be.
