Some crushed candy canes, rum and schnapps? If that doesn’t sound like a winter wonderland in a cup, I don’t know what does. This Frosty the Snowman co*cktail is perfect for adding some boozy peppermint goodness to your holiday celebrations! If you want a co*cktail that’s made to impress, this drink serves as a simple and quick recipe you can whip up for any gathering.

Love rum? So do I. You want to know what makes it taste even better? You might not have guessed it, but schnapps is the perfect match. This grain liquor blends easily with any of your favorites. But most of all, the peppermint flavor adds the perfect touch of Christmas to this delightful medley of tastes.

Frosty the Snowman himself would probably reach for one of these on a cold winter night. Between the crushed peppermint rimmer, and the blue shimmering color of this drink, it’s a tasty eye-catching drink you can enjoy this holiday season.

Blue curaco and pineapple juice blend perfectly with a refreshing coconut rum for a familiar and almost tropical taste that’s made Christmas-ey by the addition of some tasty peppermint schnapps. Combine that with a crunchy and sweet crushed candy cane rimmer, and you’ve got a magical concoction that your guests won’t soon forget!

Choosing the Right Bottles for the Job

When it comes to fresh and flavorful seasonal co*cktails like this one, sometimes it’s tempting to just reach for your most trustworthy brands of booze. While it’s seldom hard to go wrong when it comes to these drinks, you might find that it’s more exciting to mix things up a bit!

If you’re like me, there’s a good chance you haven’t even tried peppermint schnapps before. Treat yourself for the holiday season and reach for a premium bottle, as opposed to the swill you might normally see sitting next to a red solo cup. Opt for a fresh pineapple juice, and a flavorful brand of coconut rum. One thing I always find with co*cktails as opposed to mixed drinks is that it’s harder to mask cheaper spirits.

What do you Mean, ‘Simple Syrup’?

If you’re new to co*cktails, simple syrup is basically a really simple combination of sugar and water, heated and then cooled to produce a thick and stick substance that can add sweetness and texture to drinks. It also makes a fantastic binder for rimmers such as the one we’re using here! You’ll find when making a Caesar, lemon juice is sufficient enough for picking up rimming salts. Our crushed peppermint pieces however, need something a little more substantial. Without further adieu, we’ll crack into our recipe for this lovely Frosty the Snowman co*cktail recipe below!

Ingredients:

2 ounce Coconut Rum
2 ounce Blue Curacao
